“Out-of-Body…Outside the Box” by Luis Minero

What does that mean?

When you are in a classical out-of-body experience (OBE) you experience yourself temporarily outside the container of your consciousness (soul). This container is your physical body. As much as it is necessary and enjoyable to have, it poses certain restrictions on our essence (consciousness, soul). It directs us to perceive mainly the physical dimension and focuses our perception mostly on our five senses.

So what happens then, if you leave the body? In this condition you are literally outside the box (brain), and now you can perceive with your subtle body, the so-called astral body; and none of the physical limitations or rules apply anymore. This means that you can fly, travel between places in non-physical dimensions at the speed of thought, pass through physical objects and structures and much more.

In some dimensions, when conditions are ideal we may even have greater awareness than is physically possible, you may be able to see more colors, have 360-degree vision, greater mental acuteness, a heightened sense of smell, hearing and intuition. Plus, there is greater access to information about your past lives, which is normally more limited when inside the body.

With the astral body we can explore non-physical dimensions, which are the same dimensions we existed in before we were born and where we will return to after our physical body dies. Here we can find relatives and friends that have passed away and – among others – beings such as spiritual guides.

What is very interesting is that we can experience first hand that we continue to exist after death. An OBE can serve as a preview of death and as a reassurance of our nature as a consciousness. Many people who have had such experiences lose the fear of death completely. At the same time, we may find answers to our objective in life (or life mission); access greater knowledge about ourselves, and our history as a soul.

All of this can lead to an expanded perspective of life, inspirations and new ideas, because we are literally able to think outside the box. This understanding often results in personal evolution and spiritual growth, which is why the OBE can be used as a tool for spiritual growth and self-development.

Now, all of this may sound like science fiction if you haven’t yet experienced it by yourself, but the good news is that leaving the body is a skill that anybody can learn to develop. There is no special gift required, just some willingness, time and practice.

This is the reason why I became a researcher at the International Academy of Consciousness (IAC), why I have been volunteering for over 15 years, taught classes worldwide and written the Demystifying the Out-of-Body Experiences book. I, along with many other volunteer colleagues, do this to enable others to have their own OBEs and experiment by themselves. Once you experience a lucid OBE first hand and explore the non-physical dimensions directly, all of these things I mentioned before are no longer a matter of belief or an interesting theory, but become direct knowledge and experience – and nothing is more powerful than this.

Would you rather read a theory or philosophy about the soul or experience yourself what it’s like to be in your natural “soul”-condition? Probably, the latter is true.
